The App That Stole Christmas is a 2020 Christmas-themed movie that revolves around a prank gone awry. The movie showcases the lives of two tech geniuses - Dax (Ray J) and Cash (Jackie Long) who develop and market a cutting-edge dating app. It quickly becomes a huge success and generates a lot of revenue, making the two techies very wealthy. However, they didn't anticipate how their app's success would change the lives of those around them, including Santa Claus!

At a time when people are busy preparing for Christmas, Dax and Cash are busy promoting their app and working hard to further develop it. However, things take a turn for worse when a group of retirees who have pent up frustration against new technology prank call the duo, threatening to shut down their business. In response, Dax and Cash decide to carry out a prank on the retirees, which leads to unexpected consequences.

As the prank unfolds, it is discovered that the group of retirees includes none other than Santa Claus himself! With the prank gone wrong, Santa decides to take revenge, and in doing so, uses the duo's very own app to plan his revenge. Using the app, Santa has access to all the data on who's been naughty and nice, including information collected by Dax and Cash's dating app. This leads to chaos as Santa begins to give punishment to people who deserve it and leaving innocent bystanders in a lurch.

To make matters worse, the entire episode is caught on camera and goes viral, leading to the duo's app being shut down permanently. It seems as though the prank played by the duo has backfired, causing them to lose everything they had worked hard for. However, it is only after the duo learns the true meaning of Christmas that they discover a way to redeem themselves and get their app back up and running.
