This crime documentary examines how the first generation of gangsters in America rose to power and influence. There are several illegal businesses operated by organized gangsters to keep their cash flow healthy which are explored in this film. These include gambling, prostitution, and making bootleg liquor after the government enacted a prohibition of the sale of alcoholic beverages. Included is film footage of such crime notables as Al Capone, Bugsy Siegel, John Dillinger, and Pretty Boy Floyd.
