Thaanaa Serndha Koottam is a Tamil-language heist comedy film released in 2018. The film stars Suriya, Keerthy Suresh, Karthik, Ramya Krishnan, and others in important roles. The film is directed by Vignesh Shivan and produced by K. E. Gnanavel Raja under the banner of Studio Green. It is an official remake of the Hindi film Special 26, which was inspired by the real-life 1987 Opera House heist in Mumbai.

The film opens with Iniyan (Suriya), a do-gooder who dreams of becoming a CBI officer. He is frustrated by the corruption in the system and the fact that he has to bribe his way to progress in his career. He meets a group of unemployed graduates who are in dire straits due to the lack of jobs in the market.

Iniyan shares with them a plan to rob corrupt businessmen and politicians who have evaded taxes for years. He believes that it is their duty to teach the corrupt a lesson and use the money for a good cause. The gang devises a plan to impersonate CBI officials and raid the houses of the corrupt.

Iniyan leads the team of actors, comprising Mani (Sathyan), Muthu (Kalaiyarasan), and others, who rehearse diligently to convince the corrupt officials that they are genuine CBI agents. They also enlist the help of a retired CBI officer (Karthik), who trains them to execute the plan flawlessly.

Meanwhile, Iniyan meets Madhu (Keerthy Suresh), a girl who works in a bank and has lost several of her customers' money due to a scam. Iniyan falls in love with her and they share a light-hearted romance. Madhu also supports Iniyan and his team in their mission.

The heists are successful, and the gang makes off with a large amount of black money. However, things take a turn when they raid the house of a powerful businessman named Vittal Prasad (Ramya Krishnan). They find incriminating evidence against him but are caught soon after.

Vittal Prasad is furious at the imposters and wants them punished severely. However, Iniyan and his team use their wit and intelligence to wriggle out of the situation and prove their innocence.

The rest of the film deals with how Iniyan and his team evade the CBI and the police and continue to rob the corrupt officials to prove a point. They also get help from unexpected quarters and win the support of the common people.

The film has a good mix of comedy, action, and drama, and keeps the audience engaged until the end. Suriya is fantastic in the lead role, and his chemistry with Keerthy Suresh is refreshing. Karthik is excellent as the retired CBI officer, and his scenes with Suriya are a highlight.

The film's music, composed by Anirudh Ravichander, is catchy and goes well with the script. The cinematography by Dinesh Krishnan is top-notch, and the sets and locations are impressive.
