Released in 2011, the Texas Killing Fields is a police procedural crime thriller directed by Ami Canaan Mann, daughter of famed film maker Micheal Mann, who is known for such works as Heat and The Insider. The film is partially inspired by true events and the Danny Boyle, who was originally set to direct the film stated that the film was so dark it would never get made.

The plot revolves around mysterious abductions taking place of young women along the I-45 interstate in Texas, with the unfortunate women turning up dead in various roadways and bayous all along the highway corridor. Suspects abound and the killer or killers shows no sign of slowing down or stopping the murderous rampage.
