Terrortory 2 is a horror anthology film directed by Kevin Kangas and released in 2018. The movie is the sequel to the 2016 Terrortory and features five interwoven stories, each taking place in different parts of rural America. The film stars Stormi Maya, Richard Cutting, and George Stover. The opening sequence of Terrortory 2 sets the tone for the rest of the movie. A group of teenagers is camping in the woods when they stumble upon an abandoned and bloody tent. Within seconds they're attacked by an unseen force, and one of them goes missing. This is followed by an ominous message on a nearby tree that reads, "Welcome to Terrortory."
From here, the film transitions to the first story, "The Fountain." The story follows two teenage boys who break into a mysterious fountain in the middle of the night to steal coins. However, their prank goes awry when they accidentally awaken the spirit of the fountain's previous owner. What follows is a chilling tale of revenge and comeuppance.
The second story, "The Hook-Up," is a slasher film set in a remote cabin. A group of college students decide to spend their weekend partying in the woods. Unfortunately for them, a killer with a hook for a hand lurks in the shadows, and the college students soon find themselves fighting for their lives. The tension and suspense build as the killer terrorizes the group, leading to a thrilling finale.
The third story, "The Christmas Ghost," follows a mother and daughter who move into a creepy old house. As they prepare for Christmas, strange things start happening, and they soon realize they're not alone in the house. The tension builds slowly as they try to figure out what's going on, leading to a twist that will leave audiences reeling.
The fourth story, "The Rope," is a disturbing tale of revenge that centers around a man who kidnaps and tortures a woman. As she struggles to escape, she learns the terrible truth about why she was targeted in the first place. This is arguably the darkest story in the film and makes for uncomfortable viewing.
The final story, "The Lost Soul," is a ghost story set in an abandoned hospital. A detective investigates a series of disappearances that have taken place in the hospital, only to find himself confronted by the ghost of a patient who died years ago. The tension builds slowly as he tries to uncover the truth before it's too late.
Throughout the film, there are callbacks to the opening sequence, which provides a connecting thread between the stories. The movie's pacing is well-structured, with the tension and suspense building steadily from one story to the next. The film is shot in a clean and polished style, and the special effects are impressive, especially given the film's low budget.
The acting is the only weak spot in the film, as some of the performances fall flat. However, this is forgivable given the film's amateurish charm. Fans of horror anthologies will likely find Terrortory 2 an enjoyable watch, with plenty of scares and suspense to keep them engaged. It is a worthy follow-up to the original Terrortory and a solid entry in the horror genre.
Terrortory 2 is a 2018 horror movie with a runtime of 1 hour and 40 minutes. It has received mostly poor reviews from critics and viewers, who have given it an IMDb score of 4.2.
