Tera Mera Saath Rahen is a 2001 Bollywood drama film starring Ajay Devgn, Sonali Bendre, and Namrata Shirodkar. The movie was directed by Mahesh Manjrekar and produced by Divya Films International. The film revolves around Raj Dixit (Ajay Devgn), who is a caring and kind-hearted man working as a professor in a college. Despite his humble nature, he faces criticism and resentment from his own family except for his grandmother (Sulabha Deshpande) and step-brother Rahul (Dushyant Wagh). However, his life takes a turn when he is appointed as a new teacher for a group of children with special needs.

One of the children in the group, Gautam (the child actor Karan Khanna), has Down syndrome and struggles to communicate with others. Raj sees himself in Gautam as he also had a speech disability in his childhood. Over time, Raj becomes attached to Gautam and begins to understand his perspective. He even goes the extra mile to teach Gautam's mother Sudha (Namrata Shirodkar) about how to handle him properly.

Things take a turn when Raj meets Madhuri (Sonali Bendre), a new teacher who shares the same passion for teaching kids with special needs. Madhuri and Raj form a friendship and later on start liking each other. However, Raj's family and his ex-girlfriend Anita (Sonali Kulkarni), who still loves Raj, cause problems in their new relationship.

At the same time, Gautam's family has trouble accepting him as he is and wants to "fix" him. Sudha is also forced to get Gautam married against his will. Raj, along with Madhuri and Rahul, decide to take a stand for Gautam and ensure that he gets the life he deserves.

The movie takes on several themes such as the stigma towards children with special needs, the importance of education, and the power of acceptance and love. The film's strength lies in its emotional content and its ability to stay grounded and realistic.

Tera Mera Saath Rahen showcases brilliant performances from its cast, especially Ajay Devgn, who brought a sense of warmth and sincerity to the role of Raj. Sonali Bendre carries off her character's honesty and sweetness with ease while Namrata Shirodkar does a good job of portraying the challenges faced by a mother of a child with special needs.

The music of the film, composed by Anand Raj Anand and Jatin-Lalit, is soulful and melodious. Songs like "Tera Mera Saath Rahe" and "Lagti Hain Thaai" were well-received by audiences and are still remembered today.

Overall, Tera Mera Saath Rahen is a heartwarming drama that touches on various themes with sincerity and compassion. It is a must-watch for Ajay Devgn and Sonali Bendre fans and anyone looking for an uplifting family film.
