Tarkieb is an Indian crime thriller movie from the year 2000, directed by Esmayeel Shroff. This raises more questions and adds to the intrigue of the film.

The movie combines the best of crime thrillers, complete with subplots, unexpected twists, and turns. It also features some excellent performances by the actors. Nana Patekar, in particular, delivers a powerful and emotional performance as Colonel Mahendra Singh. His portrayal of the complete officer who loved his country and his family with equal passion is a real standout.

Tabu, who has always been known for her versatility and talent, also delivers an excellent performance as Colonel Mahendra Singh's wife, Shalini. Her performance as a grieving widow who is battling her emotions while trying to help with the investigation is poignant and touching.

Shilpa Shetty Kundra plays the role of Colonel Mahendra Singh's daughter, and though her screen time in the movie is limited, she delivers a noteworthy performance.

The film also boasts some excellent cinematography by Alok Dasgupta, who captures the essence of a small town's life and adds to the film's overall mood and feel. The background score by Vishal Bhardwaj is haunting and gripping and adds to the movie's suspense and intrigue.
