This 1988 drama was filmed at the beginning of the Bollywood era in India. It chronicles the lives of two childhood friends, now on opposite sides of life. Vicki and Raju were friends from childhood. They were very close, attending the same schools, taking the same classes, and playing the same sports. Their families got along well. But during one summer vacation, tragedy engulfs their lives. Vicki's mom is murdered after giving birth to Vicki's brother. Vicki's dad is on the lam, the police suspect him of committing the murder. Raju's dad suddenly becomes blind after a short but intense illness. A few years later, Raju is a police detective and Vicki is a notorious gangster going by the name Vikram. They're on a collision course, on opposite sides of the law.
