A documentary account of the events that led up to the 1969 Native American occupation of Alcatraz Island as told by the principal organizer, Adam Fortunate Eagle. The story unfolds though Fortunate Eagle?s remembrances, archival newsreel footage and photographs. Appearing in the film is John Trudell, LaNada Means, Earl Livermore and Stella Leach, all active participants in this important historical event that changed the course of history, not only for American Indians, but for the country itself.
