The story is set in a college where the students take a lot of pride in their sports teams. The college's sports teams consist of students from different backgrounds and economic classes, and they are divided into two factions â the Telugu and the Tamil teams. Both factions have a lot of hatred towards each other because of which they are always involved in fights.
Nithiin plays the role of a Telugu student named Pruthvi, who idolizes the college's cricket team captain Shiva. Genelia plays the role of a Tamilian girl named Indu, who hates Pruthvi because of his team's hatred towards her team. Preeti Nigam plays the role of Sravani, who is in love with Pruthvi.
One day, Pruthvi and Indu get into a fight, which results in their suspension from college. While they are out, they come across an old man who advises them to forget their hatred towards each other and play for the college's rugby team. They also meet a former rugby player, Vikram, who agrees to coach them.
On their return to college, they convince their respective teams to come together and play for the rugby team. However, the college management and the sports committee oppose this idea and threaten to expel them if they participate in the rugby tournament. Nevertheless, they manage to convince the management and participate in the tournament.
The rugby tournament turns out to be a fight against a corrupt sports system, and they must fight their way to the finals. The team faces many challenges, including the opposing team's attempts to sabotage their game, a cheating referee, and the coach's betrayal.
Sye's storyline also intertwines with a love story between Pruthvi and Sravani and a rivalry between the cricket captain and the rugby team.
