Sundays and Cybele is a 1962 French drama. Serge Bourguigon directed the film. The story revolves around a disabled war veteran in the aftermath of the French Indochina War. The war vet is named Pierre, and he suffers from amnesia as the result of his war experiences. He worries that he may have killed a Vietnamese girl when he crash landed his plane. He befriends a young girl who is mortified when her father drops her off at an orphanage. He pretends to be the girl’s father, and she visits him every Sunday. The troubled vet and the lonely girl benefit from their relationship.
