Sumolah is a Malaysian comedy film released in 2007. It is directed by Afdlin Shauki, who is also the lead actor in the movie. The film tells the story of a young Malaysian man named Ramlee (played by Afdlin Shauki) who dreams of becoming a professional wrestler. His enthusiasm for wrestling has led him to create his wrestling persona, the mysterious Masked Warrior.

Despite his passion for wrestling, Ramlee's father (played by Dato' Rahim Razali) disapproves of his son's ambitions, and wants him to follow in his footsteps and become a doctor. Ramlee's mother, on the other hand, encourages his passion for wrestling and supports his dreams.

However, Ramlee's mother's support is not enough to help him achieve his goals. He needs to find a way to get noticed by the wrestling world, and his chance comes when he is chosen to attend a wrestling school in Japan. Ramlee's excitement about the opportunity quickly turns to disappointment when he realizes that the school is run by a former wrestler named Oyakata (played by Awie) who has turned his back on wrestling and now operates a sumo wrestling stable.

Initially, Ramlee is frustrated to find himself in a sumo wrestling school, but he quickly learns that sumo wrestling shares a lot of the same principles as wrestling, including discipline, hard work, and respect. He begins to master the techniques of sumo wrestling and impresses Oyakata with his athleticism and determination.

Ramlee also makes friends with his fellow students, including a Singaporean businessman named Raj (played by Gurmit Singh) who is trying to overcome his fear of physical contact by learning sumo wrestling. Raj provides much of the comic relief in the movie, and his scenes with Ramlee are some of the film's funniest moments.

As Ramlee trains in Japan, he learns a lot about himself and what it takes to be a wrestler. He also discovers that his dreams may be closer than he thought when he meets a former Malaysian wrestler named W.D. (played by Jit Murad) who provides him with a connection to the wrestling world.

Sumolah is a fun and entertaining movie that combines sports, humor, and heart. The film's message about following your dreams and never giving up on your passion is one that will resonate with viewers of all ages. Additionally, the movie is a celebration of Malaysian culture and identity, and offers a glimpse into the world of sumo wrestling, a sport that is not often depicted in popular media.

Overall, Sumolah is a must-watch for anyone who loves sports movies, comedies, or just a good feel-good story. The film's endearing characters, hilarious moments, and heartwarming message make it a cinematic experience that is not to be missed.
