Streets of Rage is a martial arts action film that was released in 1993. Directed by Paul G. Volk, the movie stars Mimi Lesseos, Oliver Page, and Christopher Cass in lead roles. The story is set in California and revolves around martial arts fighter, Heather, who is seeking revenge for her sister's murder. The film opens with Heather returning to Los Angeles after being away for several years. She meets up with her best friend, Roger (Oliver Page), who is a police officer. Roger is aware of Heather's dark past and tries to convince her to let go of her vengeful thoughts. However, Heather is adamant about finding her sister's killer and bringing them to justice.

Heather's sister, Julie, was a member of an all-female martial arts gang called "The Scorpions". The Scorpions were involved in a battle with a rival gang, "The Spiders", in which Julie was killed. When Heather hears about this, she sets out to take revenge on "The Spiders" and their leader, Raven (Christopher Cass).

Throughout the film, Heather trains with Roger to improve her martial arts skills, and together they set out to track down Raven and his gang. However, their mission is not without obstacles. They face a number of dangerous situations and confrontations along the way.

One of the central themes of the movie is the empowerment of women through martial arts. The film features several all-female fight scenes, displaying the skills and strength of women in combat. The message is clear - women are just as capable as men, and can defend themselves just as well.

The fight choreography in Streets of Rage is well done and offers an entertaining experience to martial arts fans. Mimi Lesseos, who plays Heather, is a former fighter herself and the credibility of her performance adds to the authenticity of the fight scenes. Oliver Page also delivers a convincing performance as Roger, the supportive and protective friend who is always by Heather's side.

The film's plot is somewhat predictable and the dialogue leaves something to be desired. However, this is not uncommon for martial arts films of this kind. The focus is on the action, and Streets of Rage delivers on that. The film's pacing is also exceptional, keeping the audience engaged throughout.

Overall, Streets of Rage may not be one of the best martial arts films out there, but it is certainly worth a watch for fans of the genre. The movie boasts well-executed fight sequences, a strong female protagonist, and a message of women's empowerment.

Streets of Rage is a 1994 action movie with a runtime of 1 hour and 24 minutes. It has received mostly poor reviews from critics and viewers, who have given it an IMDb score of 3.8.
