Be prepared for non-stop, carefully choreographed dancing in the newest installment of the Step Up Revolution movie franchise called Step Up: Miami Heat 4. This movie takes place in the sunny city of Miami, Florida, and was filmed on the streets of Miami in and area called South Beach. The genre of the film is a flash mob/ dance 3D film that features a cast of talented actor/ dancers. This movie features enticing dance scenes and a fantastic plot that has viewers hooked from the second it begins.
This movie was produced by Jon M. Chu and stars many talented actors including: Kathryn McCormick, Ryan Guzman, Misha Gabriel and Peter Gallagher. In addition, the story was written by 2 writers who collaborated together to perfect the script, they include: Adam Shankman and Jennifer Gibot. But, the movie is not complete without the help of Choreographer, Jamal Sims and features two So You Think You Can Dance Dancers, Kathryn McCormick and Ryan Guzman.
The plot of this movie is centered on a young female dancer and daughter of a multimillionaire tycoon called Emily Anderson. Emily has the aspirations to become a professional contemporary dancer, and as a result she moves to Miami to make her dream come true. Along the way, Emily encounter young flash mob dancer called Sean, and soon Emily falls head over heals in love. Sean is a young talented dancer who is a member of a dance team known as MOB; in fact Sean is the team’s leader.
The mob wishes to win a coveted Youtube dance competition because winning this competition opens many doors in their future. These two talented dancers make a connection, but their happiness and their future as professional dancers is threatened when a multimillionaire business tycoon decides to tear down the neighborhood where the MOB members live and work in, so that he can build a hotel in its place; this tycoon is Emily’s father.
Emily is devastated because her father; her own flesh and blood is the one person who stands in the way of her childhood and lifetime dream of being a dancer. But, these two young lovers will not let Emily’s father stand in the way of the happiness of not only them, but the other people in the neighborhood. Emily and Sean devise a flash mob protest on the streets of Miami with other people who oppose the development of the hotel.
The characters include:
Emily Anderson: Emily is a young beautiful girl who is determined to make her dreams of becoming true when she came to Miami. Her father is the main antagonist of the film because he threatens to tear down the Mob’s neighborhood. But, Emily has so much passion for dance that she will never let anything get in the way of her dreams.
Sean: He is a great dancer and team leader of the dance team called MOB. His aspiration is to win the Youtube flash mob dance contest.
Eddie: Another talented dancer, Eddie is Sean’s best friend.
Step Up Revolution is a 2012 music movie with a runtime of 1 hour and 39 minutes. It has received mostly poor reviews from critics and viewers, who have given it an IMDb score of 6.4 and a MetaScore of 43.
