Stairs 1 Geneva is a documentary film that presents the creation of a large-scale art installation in Switzerland by English filmmaker and artist Peter Greenaway, CBE. Greenaway installed 100 sets of stairs around the city. Members of the general public were then able to ascend these stairs to find the view before them framed through a hole, as though framed in a postcard. The project took 100 days, the film is 100 minutes long, and it explores 100 locations throughout Geneva. Approximately 100 regionally-costumed participants were also placed near stairs, to perform choreography with props and add to the experience.
