Stagknight is a 2007 horror-comedy film directed and written by Simon Cathcart. The movie opens with a group of six friends enjoying a night out in a rural area. They decide to explore an abandoned building, which turns out to be a haunted mansion. As they explore the mansion, they come across a room filled with medieval weapons and a suit of armor. One of the friends, Holly (Jocelyn Osorio), puts on the suit of armor for fun, but soon finds that she can't remove it.

As the friends try to find a way to remove the armor, they are hunted by a mysterious figure who is revealed to be Stagknight (Martin Bayfield), a medieval-themed serial killer. With their friend trapped in the armor, the remaining friends must work together to survive the night and defeat the Stagknight.

The movie is a tongue-in-cheek homage to classic slasher films with a comedic twist. The characters are all stereotypes of horror movie tropes - the jock, the nerd, the stoner, etc. - and the dialogue is often intentionally cheesy. However, the comedic elements don't detract from the horror elements, and the movie still manages to be genuinely scary at times.

One of the standout elements of the movie is Martin Bayfield's performance as the Stagknight. Bayfield, a former professional rugby player, brings a physicality to the role that makes the character both intimidating and impressive to watch onscreen.

The movie's low budget is evident in some of the special effects, but the filmmakers make the most of what they have. The medieval weapons and armor are all real, and the fight scenes are choreographed to showcase their authenticity. There's also a fair amount of gore, but it's all done in a campy, over-the-top way that fits with the movie's tone.

The movie's pacing can be uneven at times, with some scenes feeling like they drag on longer than necessary. However, there are enough twists and turns in the plot to keep the audience engaged. The ending is particularly satisfying, with a final showdown that delivers on the movie's promise of an epic battle between the Stagknight and the remaining survivors.

Overall, Stagknight is a fun and entertaining horror-comedy that will appeal to fans of both genres. It's not a masterpiece by any means, but it's clear that the filmmakers had a lot of fun making it, and their enthusiasm is infectious. If you're looking for a movie that doesn't take itself too seriously and delivers on its promise of medieval-themed horror, then Stagknight is definitely worth a watch.

Stagknight is a 2017 horror movie with a runtime of 1 hour and 20 minutes. It has received mostly poor reviews from critics and viewers, who have given it an IMDb score of 3.3.
