This movie follows the story of Alex and Stefan, two identical twins who grew up in a strict household under the watchful eye of their abusive father. As adults, Alex (played by Gregory Harrison) and Stefan (played by Robert Collins) have taken vastly different paths in life. Alex is a successful psychiatrist, married with children, and living a seemingly perfect life. Stefan, on the other hand, is a troubled artist who has struggled to find his place in the world.
Their paths cross again when Stefan is accused of a string of brutal murders. Despite being identical twins, the two brothers have very different personalities and lifestyles, with Stefan viewing his brother as a conformist and his life as mundane. However, as Alex delves deeper into his brother’s psyche, he realizes that Stefan may not be solely responsible for the murders. Could it be his own repressed rage and anger at their shared upbringing that’s manifested in his brother's actions? Can Alex unravel the mystery before it's too late?
The movie covers themes of identity, abuse, and mental illness - exploring how different environments and experiences can shape an individual's personality and behavior. There are moments of heart-wrenching tension and suspense alongside contemplative dialogues that explore deep-seated psychological issues such as dissociative identity disorder.
