As the summer approaches, a group of friends decides to spend their vacation on the beach. Little do they know that this summer will be like no other, as a creature is lurking beneath the sand and preying on unsuspecting beach-goers. The movie opens with a group of friends arriving at the beach, excited to spend their summer with each other. All seems well until they notice a strange substance on the beach that seems to have come out of the ocean. Although they're initially wary, they soon discover that it's a harmless algae bloom and decide to continue their plans for the summer.

However, their vacation takes a turn for the worse when people start disappearing on the beach. The creature lurking beneath the sand has finally awoken and is now preying on anyone who dares to step foot on the beach. The friends soon realize that they must find a way to stop the creature before it's too late.

Splatter Beach is a low-budget horror film that relies heavily on gore and comedic elements. The movie's plot is predictable and the characters are stereotypical, but the film does deliver some cheap thrills and laughs.

Erin Brown, also known as Misty Mundae, stars as a flower child named Casey who is determined to uncover the truth about the creature. Brown's performance is energetic and fun, adding a much-needed spark to the film. Erika Smith plays the role of the final girl, a quiet and reserved character who becomes the target of the creature's attacks. Smith does a decent job with her role, but her character is not developed enough to make her stand out from the rest of the cast.

The film's special effects are a mixed bag. The creature, when it finally appears on screen, is cartoonish and poorly executed. However, the practical effects used to create the gore are impressive and add a sense of realism to the film's more gruesome moments.

One of the film's strengths is its use of humor. The movie doesn't take itself too seriously and many of its jokes land. The humor is often crude and juvenile, but it works within the context of the film. The comedic moments help to break up the tension of the horror elements and create a more enjoyable viewing experience.

Despite its flaws, Splatter Beach is an entertaining horror-comedy that will appeal to fans of low-budget horror films. The movie's gratuitous gore and raunchy humor won't be for everyone, but those who enjoy this type of film will find plenty to like.

In short, Splatter Beach is a B-movie horror film that delivers on its promise of cheap thrills and gore. While the movie's plot is predictable and the special effects are hit-or-miss, the film is elevated by strong performances from its lead actresses and a healthy dose of humor. If you're looking for a mindless horror-comedy to watch with friends, Splatter Beach may be just the ticket.

Splatter Beach is a 2007 horror movie with a runtime of 1 hour and 10 minutes. It has received mostly poor reviews from critics and viewers, who have given it an IMDb score of 3.5.
