Spiderbabe is a hilarious and tongue-in-cheek parody of the Spider-Man story, featuring a sexy superheroine who fights crime in her own unique way. The movie stars Erin Brown as the titular Spiderbabe, a young woman who gains superpowers after being bitten by a radioactive spider. But instead of using her new abilities to fight traditional supervillains, Spiderbabe puts her own naughty spin on crimefighting.

The story of Spiderbabe follows the classic Spider-Man formula in many ways. Our hero is a plucky college student named Barbara Jensen, who is bitten by a genetically-modified spider during a science experiment gone wrong. Suddenly endowed with incredible strength, agility, and the ability to sling webs from her wrists, Barbara dons a skintight superhero costume and takes to the streets to fight crime.

But from there, things start to get a little...weird. Instead of facing off against traditional supervillains, Spiderbabe battles a group of bumbling bank robbers, helps a dominatrix get her mojo back, and thwarts a plot by a group of evil scientists led by a mad professor (played by actor and director John Link). Along the way, she also has to deal with the police, who are just as skeptical of her as they are of the original Spider-Man.

Despite this, Spiderbabe manages to stay upbeat and enthusiastic, always seeking out new ways to use her powers for good. Along the way, she encounters a number of other colorful characters, including a nerdy scientist who develops a crush on her, a burlesque dancer who helps her break into a secret laboratory, and a group of adoring fans who turn her into their own personal superheroine.

One of the highlights of Spiderbabe is its humor. The movie never takes itself too seriously, and is filled with silly, over-the-top moments that had this reviewer laughing out loud. Some of the best moments come from the villainous Professor Monster, who is played with gleeful campiness by John Link. His facial expressions and over-the-top delivery had me in stitches more than once.

But while the comedy is the main draw of Spiderbabe, the film also has a strong feminist undercurrent that's worth mentioning. Barbara is a strong, independent woman who learns to take charge of her own life and destiny. She never needs rescuing by a man, and is more than capable of handling herself in a fight. There's also a notable lack of sexual exploitation in the film, despite the fact that Barbara spends most of the movie in a skintight outfit. In fact, the movie is downright wholesome compared to some of the other erotic horror comedies that Erin Brown has starred in.

Overall, Spiderbabe is a silly and fun romp that's well worth checking out if you're a fan of B-movie comedies. While it's not exactly high art, it's certainly entertaining, and its tongue-in-cheek take on the superhero genre is both clever and refreshing. If you're in the mood for a good laugh, give Spiderbabe a try. You won't be disappointed.
