Watch Spartacus

This is a 2004 miniseries that picks up on the Spartacus legend made famous in the 1960 Stanley Kubrick film starring Kirk Douglas. The miniseries was directed by Robert Schenkan and stars a large ensemble cast including Goran Visnjic, Alan Bates, Angus MacFaydnen and many others. The story and plot is strikingly similar to the Kubrick film Spartacus was a Roman slave who led a large slave revolt in Ancient Rome. One of major differences is that the miniseries features much more over-the-top violence. Some of the scenes are gruesome to say the least. It is a fun miniseries, but its focus is more on TV entertainment rather than historical fact.
