Set in the town of Beaver Mills in Upstate New York, the 2011 horror-comedy Snow Shark tells the story of a prehistoric shark that terrorizes the unsuspecting townspeople. The movie is directed by Sam Qualiana and stars a cast of actors that includes Michael O'Hear, Kathy Murphy, C.J. Qualiana, and Qualiana himself. The film opens with the discovery of a prehistoric shark fossil by a young boy named Tommy. Tommy grows up to become a scientist and returns to Beaver Mills to investigate the disappearance of several locals who had been attacked by a mysterious creature. Tommy teams up with the town's sheriff and a group of locals to hunt down the creature and put an end to its reign of terror.

As the group investigates the attacks, they soon discover that the creature is, in fact, a prehistoric shark that has been able to survive and adapt to the harsh winters of the region. The creature is able to swim through the snow, attacking unsuspecting victims from below the ground.

The group then plans to lure the creature to the surface using themselves as bait. They create a fake snowman to attract the snow shark, and when it takes the bait, they launch an attack on the creature using guns and explosives.

Despite their efforts, the snow shark proves to be a formidable opponent, and the group is forced to think outside the box to finally put an end to the creature's terror. Along the way, the group must confront their fears and work together to overcome the odds.

One of the strengths of Snow Shark is its use of humor. The movie is not meant to be taken seriously, and it embraces its B-movie roots. The film is packed with cheesy one-liners, over-the-top performances, and ridiculous situations that are sure to make viewers laugh.

However, the movie does not sacrifice horror for humor. The creature itself is genuinely terrifying, and the attacks are bloody and gruesome. Snow Shark delivers plenty of scares, jump scares, and gore for horror fans to enjoy.

The performances in the movie are also noteworthy. The cast of relatively unknown actors delivers solid performances and does a good job of selling the absurdity of the situation. The chemistry between the actors is evident, and their banter and interactions are entertaining to watch.

The special effects in the movie are decent, given its low budget. The snow shark itself looks convincing, and its movements through the snow are well-executed. While some of the effects may seem a bit cheesy by today's standards, they still add to the movie's charm and overall appeal.

One of the movie's flaws is its pacing. The movie takes a while to get going, and there are some slow stretches in the middle that may turn off some viewers. Additionally, some of the humor may not land with everyone, and the movie's B-movie charm may not appeal to all horror fans.

Overall, Snow Shark is a fun and entertaining horror-comedy that does not take itself too seriously. It embraces its B-movie roots and delivers plenty of laughs and scares for viewers to enjoy. The movie may not be for everyone, but those who enjoy cheesy horror flicks will find plenty to love in this creature feature.

Snow Shark is a 2011 science fiction movie with a runtime of 1 hour and 19 minutes. It has received poor reviews from critics and viewers, who have given it an IMDb score of 1.8.
