Snehithan is a heart-touching 2002 Malayalam drama film directed by Deepan and starring Kunchacko Boban, Nandana, and Preetha Vijaykumar. The movie delves into the concept of friendship, love, and misunderstandings that can arise among the closest friends. Snehithan depicts the story of the two inseparable friends, Hari and Giri, who have known each other since childhood. Both of them are from different financial backgrounds. Hari belongs to an affluent family, while Giri is from a lower-middle-class family. Despite the differences, they cherish their friendship above everything else.

Things take an unexpected turn when Hari falls in love with Lakshmi, a girl from a rich but broken family. Giri, who is unaware of Hari's feelings, also develops a liking for her. Meanwhile, Hari's parents fix his marriage proposal to Nanditha, the daughter of a wealthy businessman. Although Hari is in love with Lakshmi, he is compelled to marry Nanditha due to family obligations.

The story becomes more complicated when Giri goes abroad for higher studies, and Hari and Lakshmi decide to elope. Hari's decision to run away with Lakshmi creates a huge rift in his friendship with Giri. Giri feels betrayed and left alone, causing a deep void within him. To make matters worse, Nanditha also learns about Hari's love affair and decides to take revenge on him.

The rest of the movie primarily revolves around the strained relationships between the three characters and how they reconcile their differences. The narrative deals with the emotional upheavals each character goes through as they try to come to terms with their predicaments.

Kunchacko Boban delivers an outstanding performance as Hari, conveying the character's emotional turmoil and his conflicting desires. Preetha Vijayakumar is equally impressive as Nanditha, whose character undergoes significant development throughout the film. Nandana portrays the role of Lakshmi with subtlety and grace, beautifully capturing the hopes, dreams, and aspirations of a young woman in love.

Director Deepan's script is the highlight of the film, which is woven with beautifully written dialogues that evoke deep emotions. The skillfully crafted sequences evoke a palatable sense of melancholy and are complemented by the film's soulful music composed by Ouseppachan.

In conclusion, Snehithan is a timeless movie that leaves a lasting impact on the audience. The film is a reminder that friendships are fragile and can never be taken for granted. It also portrays the power of love and how it can heal the deepest wounds. The movie's touching storyline, delightful performances, and soulful music will continue to enthrall viewers for years to come.
