Smosh: The Movie is a 2015 comedy film directed by Alex Winter, based on the popular YouTube channel Smosh, which it stars. The movie follows the adventures of Ian Hecox and Anthony Padilla (who play themselves) as they try to retrieve a deleted video that could ruin their reputation as YouTube stars. Michael Ian Black plays their boss at a YouTube network company.

At the beginning of the movie, we see Ian and Anthony losing their jobs at a local pizza place due to a prank gone wrong that they filmed and uploaded to YouTube. The two friends are devastated and struggling to find a new source of income. They decide to attend a technology convention, where they meet a man named Stevie (played by Steve Austin), who shows them a new app called "Lextube" that can generate viral videos.

Excited at the prospect, the duo start creating videos using the app, and soon, they become the hottest thing on YouTube. However, their success is short-lived when their account is hacked and all of their videos, including a controversial music video, get deleted. Devastated, Ian and Anthony set out on a mission to recover their lost material and clear their names.

The rest of the movie follows their wacky journey, which involves meeting eccentric characters and navigating dangerous situations. Along the way, they encounter a group of fans who idolize them and end up joining forces with a gaming YouTuber named Alien (played by Shayne Topp) to take on the villainous tech genius named "The Stone" (played by Mark Edward Fischbach, known as Markiplier).

In addition to its entertaining plot, Smosh: The Movie also explores the relationship between Ian and Anthony and their struggles as friends. Anthony has a girlfriend, and Ian feels left out, which creates tension between the two. However, they eventually learn to work through their issues and rekindle their friendship.

The film is filled with plenty of humorous and absurd moments, such as when Ian and Anthony end up in a sketchy dance club, where they get caught up in a wild dance-off. Another memorable scene involves the duo crashing a fancy celebrity party dressed in gorilla suits. The film also features a cameo from Jenna Marbles, who teaches Ian and Anthony how to "go viral."

Overall, Smosh: The Movie is a fun and lighthearted comedy that will appeal to fans of the Smosh YouTube channel. While the plot may not be the most original, the film's quirky characters and over-the-top antics make it an enjoyable watch. The movie's message about the importance of friendship and staying true to yourself is also a positive takeaway for audiences.

Smosh: The Movie is a 2015 action movie with a runtime of 1 hour and 26 minutes. It has received mostly poor reviews from critics and viewers, who have given it an IMDb score of 3.3.
