Slice is a 2018 horror-comedy movie that features a small town in the United States that exists at a crossroads between the living and the dead. Directed by Austin Vesely, the movie stars a star-studded cast, including Zazie Beetz, Chance the Rapper, and Rae Gray. The movie is set in a fictional town named Kingfisher that is haunted by ghosts, zombies, and werewolves. The story follows Dax Lycander (Chance the Rapper), a pizza delivery guy who finds himself at the center of a series of bizarre murders that target other pizza delivery drivers. As the deaths increase, Dax becomes the prime suspect and is thrown into a race against time to clear his name and save his town from an evil force that threatens to destroy it.

The plot of Slice is a fusion of genres, combining elements of horror, comedy, and suspense. The movie starts with a murder that sets the tone for the rest of the story. The opening sequence sets up the town's terrifying atmosphere as the camera swoops over an abandoned, crumbling hospital filled with creepy black and white photographs of children.

The central mystery of the movie is the serial killings of pizza delivery guys. The audience is left to puzzle over the clues alongside Dax. The female lead, played by Zazie Beetz, is also searching for answers to her own questions, and Suki Waterhouse (Jenny) brings a lot of humor to the film as a ghostly waitress with a sharp tongue.

Throughout the movie, Dax encounters an array of strange and spooky characters, from a werewolf with a pitchfork to a creepy looking man who keeps appearing in the background of scenes. One of the standout scenes is when Beetz's character, Astrid, takes on a ghostly bartender in a fight scene that is equal parts humorous and thrilling.

In addition to its horror elements, Slice also has a lot of comedic moments throughout the film. The script is laced with dark humor and witty one-liners. Chance the Rapper's character Dax is awkward, but hilarious, and his performance brings much of the comedic relief to the story.

The film's sound design is also a highlight. The music, composed by Ludwig Göransson, amplifies the tension and atmosphere of the movie. The scenes are expertly scored, and the soundtrack deftly combines elements of horror and humor.

The movie's pacing is excellent, and the different storylines come together nicely in the end. The culminating sequences are tense and exciting, and the final confrontation between Dax and the movie's antagonist, the former Mayor of the town, is satisfyingly satisfying.

Overall, Slice is a fun and entertaining movie that will appeal to fans of horror and comedy alike. The movie combines the eerie ambiance of a ghost story with the humor of a buddy comedy, and it does so flawlessly. With standout performances from Beetz, Chance, and Gray, this one is a must-watch for anyone looking for a unique and enjoyable movie experience.
