Sleepover is a 2004 teen comedy directed by Joe Nussbaum. The film features a group of four best friends, Julie (Alexa PenaVega), Hannah (Mika Boorem), Farrah (Scout Taylor-Compton), and Yancy (Kallie Flynn Childress), who are finishing up their freshman year of high school. On the last day of school, they have a sleepover where they play a game of "Scavenger Hunt" against the popular girls in school in order to win two VIP passes to a music festival. The film takes place over the course of one night as the girls embark on a series of wacky and chaotic adventures in their quest to win the challenge.

Julie, the film's protagonist, is a shy and reserved girl who is looking for a way to break out of her shell. She has a crush on Steve, a popular boy at school, but is too nervous to confess her feelings to him. When they are paired up for a class project at the end of the year, Julie sees it as an opportunity to get to know Steve better. However, when Steve starts to show an interest in Julie's enemy, Staci (Sara Paxton), she becomes discouraged and begins to doubt herself. Throughout the movie, Julie is torn between trying to win the scavenger hunt and trying to impress Steve.

Hannah is Julie's best friend and is the complete opposite of her. She is outgoing and confident, and is always up for a challenge. When the scavenger hunt is proposed, Hannah is the first to suggest that they participate in it. She is also the mastermind behind their plans to win, coming up with creative and bold ideas to complete each challenge. While Hannah is busy trying to win the scavenger hunt, her little brother, Austin (Sean Faris), is also out causing trouble. He has a crush on Farrah and follows the girls around town in order to help with the challenges.

Farrah is another one of Julie's best friends. She is a tomboy who is into skateboarding and has a crush on one of the popular boys at school. Farrah is hesitant to participate in the scavenger hunt, but when she learns that the popular girls are taking it seriously, she becomes determined to beat them. Farrah's story arc involves her finding the confidence to pursue her crush and standing up to the popular girls who are bullying her.

Yancy is the final member of the group. She is quirky and eccentric, often wearing odd outfits and carrying bizarre items in her backpack. Yancy's personal challenge for the night is to get through the scavenger hunt without anyone making fun of her. She is often the butt of the joke, but finds a way to turn it around and show the other girls that she is just as capable as they are. Yancy also has a subplot involving her crush on a boy she met online who is also participating in the scavenger hunt.

The popular girls, led by Staci, are the main antagonists of the film. They are determined to win the scavenger hunt and will do anything to ensure that Julie and her friends lose. The popular girls also have a subplot where they try to find a way to sneak into a nightclub under the legal drinking age.

The film is filled with wild adventures as the girls complete each challenge. Some of the memorable moments include a food fight, a dance-off at a car wash, and a parachute jump into a swimming pool. Along the way, they encounter a series of wacky characters, including a group of chocolate-loving brothers and a group of senior citizens who have their own ideas about how to have fun.

Sleepover is a fun and lighthearted movie that will appeal to anyone who has had a group of close friends in high school. The film is filled with laughs and hijinks, but also deals with themes of self-confidence, friendship, and the challenges of growing up. While Sleepover may not be the most sophisticated film, it is a perfect watch for a lazy weekend afternoon or a nostalgic girls' night in.

Sleepover is a 2004 kids & family movie with a runtime of 1 hour and 29 minutes. It has received mostly poor reviews from critics and viewers, who have given it an IMDb score of 5.3 and a MetaScore of 33.
