In a world filled with magic and mythical creatures, the Slayers are a group of powerful warriors who use their abilities to protect the land. Slayers Premium, a 2001 anime film directed by Junichi Satou, follows the adventures of the legendary Lina Inverse and her companions as they battle a new enemy threatening their world. The movie begins with Lina and her traveling partner, Gourry Gabriev, receiving a mysterious invitation to a village celebration. Upon their arrival, they discover that the villagers are actually Shimeras - beings that are a mix of human and dragon. The Shimeras are a peaceful people who have never been involved in any conflicts, making Lina and Gourry suspicious of their true intentions. However, despite their initial reluctance, the pair decides to attend the festival.

At the festival, Lina and Gourry are attacked by an unknown assailant who steals Lina's precious gemstone, the Dragon's Eye. As they investigate the attack, they discover that the culprit is a mysterious sorceress named Joyrock, who is seeking to awaken ancient dragons and use their power for her own gain. Joined by the rest of the Slayers, including Amelia, Zelgadis, and Xellos, Lina and Gourry must stop Joyrock and her minions from unleashing the dragons' destructive power.

Throughout the movie, the Slayers encounter a series of obstacles and challenges that test their abilities and their wits. From battling giant sea monsters to navigating treacherous mountains, the group is pushed to their limits in order to prevent Joyrock's plan from coming to fruition. Along the way, they also learn more about the history of the Shimeras and their ties to the ancient dragons, as well as the true extent of Joyrock's power.

One of the standout elements of Slayers Premium is its humor. The film is filled with laugh-out-loud moments, thanks in large part to the quick-witted banter between the characters. Lina's snarky comments and Gourry's cluelessness provide a perfect comedic balance, while Amelia's idealism and Zelgadis' dry humor add to the mix. Even in the midst of battle, the Slayers find moments to poke fun at themselves and each other.

Another strength of the movie is its animation. The visuals are bright, colorful, and dynamic, with plenty of action sequences that keep the viewer engaged. The character designs are also top-notch, with each Slayer sporting a distinctive look that reflects their personality. Lina's fiery red hair and short stature make her stand out as a force to be reckoned with, while Zelgadis' blue skin and silver hair set him apart as a mysterious figure.

Despite its lighthearted tone, Slayers Premium also touches on some heavier themes, such as the consequences of seeking power at any cost and the importance of standing up for what is right. The characters' struggles and triumphs are relatable even in a fantastical setting, making the film more than just a silly adventure story.

Overall, Slayers Premium is a fun and engaging anime film that will appeal to fans of the fantasy genre. Its humor, action-packed scenes, and memorable characters make it a standout addition to the Slayers franchise.
