Skinny Tiger, Fatty Dragon is a 1990 Hong Kong martial arts comedy film directed by Lau Kar-leung, starring Sammo Kam-Bo Hung, Karl Maka, and Ming Yan Lung. The movie revolves around the exciting story of a highly skilled martial arts teacher and his clumsy, overweight protégé. The movie begins with Lothar, a powerful German businessman and crime lord arriving in Hong Kong. However, he is also considered a bit of a hothead, and he struggles with his many debts and insecurities.
One day, Dragon accidentally runs into Tiger, and the two former students rekindle their friendship. Tiger becomes aware of the fact that Dragon is being pursued by Lothar and decides to help him out. The two friends quickly become embroiled in a dangerous game of cat and mouse with Lothar and his henchmen.
As the story unfolds, a series of wild and hilarious martial arts battles ensue. Fatty Dragon and Skinny Tiger use their unique skills to take on Lothar's hired thugs, and the action is intense and often quite funny. Tiger's strict martial arts training comes in handy when he is up against a group of young rascals that try to steal the necklace from underneath his nose. Thrown into the mix is Dragon's niece, Pak, who is a skilled martial artist and also a police officer. Despite her best attempts to catch Lothar, she often finds herself being rescued by Tiger and Dragon.
As the plot thickens, Tiger and Dragon must work together to outsmart Lothar and keep the precious necklace out of harm's way. Along the way, they encounter many unexpected twists and hilarious situations.
