This tale is set in the 1860s and is told in the form of a flashback that is based off of the internationally best-seller by Alessandro Baricco released 1997. Starring Michael Pitt, Keira Knightley, and Alfred Molina, this film brought in $126,537 on its opening weekend in the USA. Silk is a timeless romance film with multiple plot twists and beautiful scenery, complimented by keystrokes of a piano that sends chilling melodies and harmonies with the corresponding scenes. The actors and actresses portray the issues they are faced with as if their 1860s world is our present time, and yet they preserve the vintage and classic-esque feeling so the viewer doesn't feel the motion picture is "out dated."

Silk takes modern day situations and brings them back to a time where things were simpler, yet just as difficult. It interprets romance, traveling, family, and even topics that are hard to cover without being controversial.

Silk is a 2007 drama with a runtime of 1 hour and 48 minutes. It has received mostly poor reviews from critics and viewers, who have given it an IMDb score of 5.8 and a MetaScore of 39.
