In the movie Silent Rage, which was released in 1982, Chuck Norris plays the role of Dan Stevens, a Texas Sheriff. Ron Silver plays the role of Dr. Tom Halman, a scientist working on a secret project involving genetic engineering. Steven Keats plays the role of Dr. Paul Vaughn, a colleague of Dr. Halman's. The movie opens with a scene where a mentally disturbed man named John Kirby (Brian Libby) brutally murders his family. Dr. Halman, who happens to be working at the hospital where Kirby is taken, decides to inject him with an experimental serum that gives him regenerative powers. The serum is successful in bringing Kirby back to life, but it also has the unintended side-effect of making him virtually indestructible.

When Kirby starts to display violent behavior again, the local police are called in to stop him. However, conventional methods of apprehension prove to be useless against him. It's then that Sheriff Stevens enters the picture, determined to stop Kirby even if it means going beyond the law.

The fight scenes in Silent Rage are the primary attraction of this movie. Chuck Norris delivers some of his signature moves and kicks, but they aren't gratuitous or excessive. The fight scenes are well-choreographed and are just enough to satisfy Norris fans. Ron Silver's character, Dr. Halman, also proves to be a good foil for Norris, as he tries to protect his creation and stop the sheriff at the same time.

The suspense in the movie is well-balanced, as the viewer is continuously kept on the edge of their seat. As the movie progresses, it becomes clear that Kirby is a formidable opponent, and he poses a threat not just to Sheriff Stevens but to society as a whole.

Silent Rage isn't just a movie about action and suspense, however. It also raises ethical questions about the use of gene therapy and the responsibility that scientists bear towards society. The movie also explores the theme of justice and whether the ends, in this case, the apprehension of Kirby, justify the means.

Chuck Norris's portrayal of Sheriff Stevens is a typical tough-guy role, but he also brings a degree of sensitivity to the character. Stevens is portrayed as a man who is deeply committed to his job, but who also learns to question what is ethical and just as he pursues Kirby.

Ron Silver's performance as Dr. Halman is equally impressive. He delivers an intense and layered portrayal of a scientist who is both brilliant and misguided. His character's struggle with morality and responsibility provides the movie with added depth.

Overall, Silent Rage is a fast-paced and entertaining action movie with a dash of sci-fi thrown in. The fight scenes and suspense are well-executed, and the ethical dilemmas posed by the movie give it added significance. The pairing of Chuck Norris and Ron Silver proves to be a great match, and it's easy to see why this movie has become a cult classic among Norris fans.

Silent Rage is a 1982 action movie with a runtime of 1 hour and 43 minutes. It has received mostly poor reviews from critics and viewers, who have given it an IMDb score of 5.4 and a MetaScore of 31.
