Shred is an independent comedy film released in 2008, written and directed by David Mitchell. The movie stars Tom Green, Dave England, Jason Bothe, and Carlo Marks in the lead roles. The plot revolves around four snowboarders who own a failing ski and snowboard shop called Shred. The shop's owners are in debt and struggling to pay their bills, so they decide to try to save their business by entering a snowboarding competition with a hefty cash prize.

The film begins when Matt (played by Jason Bothe) returns home after dropping out of college. He joins his old friends Jake (played by Carlo Marks), Tank (played by Dave England), and Paul (played by Tom Green) at their snowboarding shop, Shred. The group finds themselves going through a tough time as their business is in danger of being foreclosed. To save their shop, they decide to participate in a snowboarding competition with a $50,000 cash prize.

Although past competitions have had disastrous results, resulting in them being banned from all competitions for a year, the group is determined to win this time. With only three weeks left till the competition, the group begins to train hard, using their creativity to come up with new and unique stunts. With Matt's dad providing some initial funding, they purchase new snowboards, hire a trainer, and update their shop.

But things take a turn when they find out that their main competitor, the reigning champion Spinks (played by Ashleigh Biller), is using shady tactics to stay on top, stealing Shred's strategies and even sabotaging their equipment. The group also falls apart with internal conflicts as each member tries to deal with their issues.

The acting in the movie is decent, with Tom Green leading the way in the comedy department. The story is predictable, with a plot that has been reused multiple times in sports comedy movies. The film is funny, but the jokes mostly fall flat, and the humor fails to make an impact.

The snowboarding sequences are well filmed but lack the excitement that one expects from a sports movie. The final showdown between Shred and Spinks is underwhelming, with a predictable outcome. The film feels like it's trying to be cool and edgy, but it comes off as bland and uninspired.

The movie's soundtrack features a bunch of indie rock and punk songs, which give the film a fun and energetic vibe. The cinematography is also excellent, with breathtaking shots of the snow-covered mountains and the beautiful scenery.

Overall, Shred is an enjoyable movie that's worth a watch if you're a fan of snowboarding or sports comedies. The film's predictable plot and mediocre humor may put off some viewers, but it's a lighthearted movie that's perfect for a lazy afternoon.

Shred is a 2008 comedy with a runtime of 1 hour and 39 minutes. It has received mostly poor reviews from critics and viewers, who have given it an IMDb score of 3.9.
