She's Out of Control is a romantic comedy from 1989 that follows the life of a radio executive named Doug Simpson (Tony Danza) who suddenly finds himself out of his depth when it comes to raising his teenage daughter, Katie (Ami Dolenz). As a single father, Doug is a little overprotective of Katie, and when she returns from summer camp looking like a glamorous young woman, it's more than he can handle. He enlists the help of a beautician, Janet Pearson (Catherine Hicks), to help his daughter transform into a less provocative version of herself, but things quickly spiral out of control.

The movie begins with a typical, suburban family: Doug, his daughter Katie, and his girlfriend, Maria (Dana Ashbrook). Doug is a successful radio executive who works long hours and enjoys the perks that come with his job. He's happy with his life until Katie returns from summer camp looking completely different than when she left. With wild hair, heavy makeup, and revealing clothing, she shocks her father and his girlfriend, causing Doug to realize he's in over his head.

Desperate to get his daughter back to her normal look, Doug turns to Janet Pearson, a famous and successful beautician who he hopes can help his daughter rediscover her natural beauty. Though skeptical at first, Janet eventually agrees to help, and Doug takes Katie to her salon for a full makeover. By the time Katie emerges, she's a completely different person. She's styled her hair differently, toned down her makeup, and even ditched her revealing clothing in favor of more modest outfits.

At first, it seems like Doug's plan has worked. Katie gets more attention from boys, which is what she wanted in the first place, but her new look also attracts the attention of her father's boss, Mr. Larrabee (Wallace Shawn). Larrabee is an eccentric and quirky radio executive who begins to take an interest in Katie's life, much to Doug's chagrin.

As Doug tries to keep his daughter out of trouble, he also tries to navigate his own love life. His relationship with Maria is on the rocks, and he begins to develop feelings for Janet, despite her initial reluctance to get involved with him. As the movie progresses, Doug realizes that he has to let go of his overprotective tendencies and let Katie grow up on her own.

The movie is a lighthearted comedy that explores the generation gap between parents and children. It's a perfect film for anyone who loves 80s nostalgia and a good laugh. Tony Danza and Catherine Hicks have excellent chemistry, and their relationship is both sweet and relatable. Catherine Hicks is particularly excellent in her role as Janet, bringing a level of warmth and sincerity to the role that makes her character instantly likable.

Overall, She's Out of Control is a fun and enjoyable movie with a great cast and a relatable story. Its themes of teenage rebellion and parental anxiety are still relevant today, making it a timeless classic that will continue to resonate with audiences for years to come.

She's Out of Control is a 1989 comedy with a runtime of 1 hour and 30 minutes. It has received poor reviews from critics and viewers, who have given it an IMDb score of 5.4 and a MetaScore of 20.
