Shatru Gate is a Nepali action-thriller movie released in 2018. Directed by Pradip Bhattarai, the movie is about corrupt politicians and the massacre of students who were protesting against a university fee hike. The protagonist of the movie is Hari Bansha Acharya who plays the role of a retired Major who is also a retired politician. After leaving the army, he had decided to stay away from politics but eventually, he has to come back into the scene to protect his country and people from evil politicians. Basundhara Bhusal plays the role of his wife and Narendra Singh Dhami plays the role of a corrupt politician who is behind the massacre.

The movie starts with an introduction to the corrupt political situation of Nepal. Students are protesting against a hike in university fees but the leaders of the country and educational institutions do not seem to care. The students are peaceful and want the issue to be resolved through dialogues but the police around the premises start using force to disperse the crowds. The situation gets tense and chaotic, with the police chasing and beating up the students.

One of the students gets hit and dies, which infuriates the rest of the students. They start attacking the police station and setting vehicles on fire. The government then declares a curfew in the city, further increasing the tension.

In the meantime, the protagonist of the movie, who has now retired from politics, is living a quiet life with his wife. He used to be a politician himself and had joined the army to fight for his country. Having lost faith in politics, he decided to retire and focus on his family.

However, everything changes when his son, who is a journalist, tells him about the massacre of students. The retired Major realizes that he cannot stand aside while the country is in trouble. He starts taking action to find out what really happened and who is behind it.

As he digs deeper, he uncovers that the massacre was pre-planned by a group of corrupt politicians who wanted to silence the students' protests. The Major, along with his wife and friends, decides to take on the corrupt politicians and bring them to justice. He uses his knowledge of the army and politics to make a plan and execute it.

The rest of the story revolves around how the Major and his team target each of the corrupt politicians and make them pay for their crimes. The movie showcases thrilling action scenes, intense suspense, and a well-thought-out plotline. The performances of the actors, especially Hari Bansha Acharya, are outstanding.
