Seventeen and Missing is a 2007 thrilller movie directed by Paul Schneider and starring Dedee Pfeiffer, Matthew Harrison, and Tegan Moss. The movie follows the story of a teenager named Candace who mysteriously disappears while on a camping trip with her father. Although her father reported her disappearance to the authorities, the case was closed for lack of evidence.

Candace's mother, Olivia, is determined to find her daughter and hires a private investigator, Trey Ramsey, played by Matthew Harrison. Trey is a former FBI agent who has a passion for finding missing children. He agrees to take on the case and starts his investigation by visiting Candace's father and the last known location where she was seen.

As the investigation continues, it becomes apparent that something sinister is going on. There are clues that suggest that Candace did not simply run away, but was abducted. Trey discovers that there are other teenage girls who have gone missing in the same area, and that Candace was likely the latest victim of a serial kidnapper. Trey joins forces with Olivia and starts working with the police to track down the abductor.

Meanwhile, Candace is being held captive by the kidnapper, who is revealed to be a middle-aged man named Brian Keene. Brian is a reclusive loner who lives in a cabin in the woods. He has a sick obsession with teenage girls and has been preying on them for years. Candace is not his only captive, he has several other girls imprisoned in his cabin. He has brainwashed them and convinced them that he is their savior, and that they must obey him if they want to stay alive.

As the search for Candace continues, Trey begins to uncover more about Brian's sinister past. Trey discovers that Brian had a troubled childhood and was abused by his father. This led him to develop an unhealthy obsession with teenage girls. He had been committing these crimes for years, but had always managed to evade the police.

Despite numerous obstacles, Trey, along with Olivia and the police, finally locates Brian's cabin. A dramatic confrontation takes place between Trey and Brian, and Candace is finally rescued. The other girls who were also held captive are also rescued and reunited with their families.

In the aftermath of this traumatic event, Candace's family and the other families affected try to move on with their lives. However, the events that they have experienced will leave a permanent mark on them. Seventeen and Missing is a gripping thriller that highlights the dangers of being too trusting and the lengths people will go to find their loved ones.
