Seoul Station is a 2016 South Korean animated horror film directed by Sang-ho Yeon. The movie is a prequel to the 2016 live-action movie Train to Busan, another horror film that follows the story of a group of passengers trapped in a train during a zombie apocalypse. Seoul Station's story is set in the titular city of South Korea where a homeless man is bitten by a homeless woman and turns into a zombie. The infected man wanders around the city, trying to find something to eat, and attacks anyone who crosses his path. Meanwhile, a young woman, Hye-sun, is searching for her boyfriend, who ran away from home. She later discovers that her boyfriend is at the Seoul Station, where the homeless man-turned-zombie is also headed, in search of more victims.

The director, Sang-ho Yeon, does an excellent job of creating a tense and suspenseful atmosphere throughout the movie. The animation is beautifully done, and the music adds to the eerie feeling of the film. The animation style is also unique, with a hand-drawn feel that is similar to traditional Japanese anime styles, but with more realistic features like fluid movement and glowing eyes.

The movie's themes revolve around social inequality, particularly the plight of the homeless in modern-day South Korea. It is a thought-provoking commentary on how the less fortunate are often left behind during times of crisis. It also highlights the lack of empathy and compassion towards the homeless, who are often marginalized and deemed a nuisance to society.

The irony of the film is that while the homeless in Seoul Station are seen as a nuisance and a burden to society, they are effectively the only ones who manage to survive the apocalypse. The rich and powerful, who are seen as saviors during normal times, are ultimately powerless in the face of the zombie outbreak.

Seoul Station is not for the faint of heart. The movie is violent and gruesome, with scenes that may be too intense for younger viewers. It's definitely not a movie to watch alone at night, but it's worth a view for horror movie enthusiasts who enjoy the zombie sub-genre.

The film's voice acting is superb, with Seung-ryong Ryu doing an excellent job as the voice of Suk-gyu, the father of Hye-sun. Suk-gyu is a flawed character who is dealing with a deteriorating relationship with his daughter. The movie's portrayal of family dynamics is heartfelt, and the father-daughter relationship provides a stark contrast to the cold reality of the zombie apocalypse.

Shim Eun-kyung voices Hye-sun, the film's central character. She does an excellent job of portraying Hye-sun's desperation and determination to find her boyfriend. Hye-sun's character undergoes a significant transformation throughout the film, going from a helpless victim to a determined survivor. Joon Lee voices Ki-woong, Hye-sun's boyfriend, who is at the center of the movie's story. The chemistry between Hye-sun and Ki-woong is believable, and their relationship is one of the highlights of the movie.

In conclusion, Seoul Station is an intense and suspenseful horror movie. Its themes of social inequality and family dynamics make it more than just a mere horror flick. The animation and voice acting are top-notch, making the film an excellent addition to the zombie movie sub-genre. Though it's not for the faint of heart, it's definitely worth a view for horror enthusiasts who love all things zombie.

Seoul Station is a 2016 animated movie with a runtime of 1 hour and 33 minutes. It has received moderate reviews from critics and viewers, who have given it an IMDb score of 6.1.
