Secret Superstar is a Bollywood musical drama film released in 2017, directed by Advait Chandan and produced by Aamir Khan and Kiran Rao. The film features talented Bollywood actresses Zaira Wasim and Meher Vij along with Raj Arjun in the lead roles. Shakti becomes interested in Insu's talent and sees her as his ticket back to fame. He offers to help Insu in her dream of becoming a famous singer in exchange for her working with him. Insu agrees and thus begins the journey of the young girl as she tries to make it big in the music industry with the help of Shakti.

Throughout the film, Insu faces multiple challenges and obstacles, including her abusive father who tries to control her every move, and the social stigma attached to singing in a conservative society. She also struggles to maintain her anonymity as her fame grows, and she is recognized in public while wearing her burqa. Despite all these obstacles, Insu never loses hope and keeps moving forward to pursue her dreams.

Meher Vij appears in the role of Insu's mother, Najma who is quiet yet supportive of her daughter’s dreams, and her husband's wrath. Raj Arjun portrays the role of Insu’s father, a man with an alcohol addiction and a patriarchal mindset who does not support his daughter's dreams. Tirth Sharma plays Insu's younger brother, Guddu, and Kabir Khan is seen as Chintan, Insu's friend who is secretly in love with her.

The film is a perfect blend of emotions, drama, and music, and the performances of the leading cast are remarkable. Zaira Wasim as Insu beautifully portrays the pain, struggle, and determination of a young girl who refuses to give up on her dreams.
