"Sbatti il mostro in prima pagina," which is Italian for "Slap the monster on the 1st page," is a film from 1972. It follows the daily operations of an Italian newspaper that engineers all of its material favorably toward the views of conservatives, would-be fascists, and the upper class, no matter how trivial, while also softening and sweetening any sour issues, such as excessive force by the police. The paper's editorial staff throws a fit after a young woman is found abused and slain, seeking out capital punishment and deluding the police into believing that a left-wing student did it.
