Santa Buddies is a family comedy movie from 2009, directed by Robert Vince. It is the fourth film in the Disney Buddies franchise which began with Air Bud: Golden Receiver. The film features a group of golden retriever puppies who end up saving Christmas when Santa Claus loses his magical Christmas icicle. The story begins at the North Pole, where Santa Claus (played by George Wendt) is getting ready for Christmas. He calls on his faithful companion Santa Paws (Tom Bosley), the magical talking dog, to guide him through the preparations. Santa Paws has a son named Puppy Paws (Zachary Gordon), who is growing up to be an arrogant young pup with no interest in being a Santa Pup. Instead, he dreams of being a normal dog and decides to run away from the North Pole to Fernfield, Washington.

Meanwhile, in Fernfield, a group of golden retriever puppies- Budderball (voiced by Josh Flitter), B-Dawg (voiced by Skyler Gisondo), Rosebud (voiced by Liliana Mumy), Buddha (voiced by Henry Hodges), and Mudbud (voiced by Ty Panitz)- discover an icicle which they believe to be a magical treasure. In their quest to find out more about the icicle, they accidentally end up bringing Puppy Paws with them to Fernfield.

Once in Fernfield, the puppies soon realize that Puppy Paws' selfishness has caused him to forget the true meaning of Christmas. They decide to teach him the importance of the holiday and show him how to be a true Santa Pup. Together, they work to help Santa Claus, who has lost his magical icicle and needs it to save Christmas. They discover that the icicle has been stolen by an evil dog catcher named Stan Cruge (played by Christopher Lloyd) who plans to sell it to the highest bidder.

The puppies, with the help of some new friends, including a little girl named Eddy (Charisse Baker) and her grandfather (Danny Woodburn), embark on a daring adventure to retrieve the icicle and save Christmas. Along the way, they learn the true meaning of teamwork and the importance of selflessness.

Overall, Santa Buddies is a heartwarming family film that celebrates friendship, teamwork, and the spirit of Christmas. While it is primarily targeted at young children, it can also be enjoyed by adults who appreciate the innocence of a good family movie. The adorable puppies are the real stars of the movie, and their antics and adorable personalities are sure to delight viewers of all ages.
