Sandokan the Great is an adventure movie about a fictional Malaysian pirate who was sailing across the South China Sea in the late 19th century. It is based on the books written by Italian writer Emilio Salgari. They were initially published in 1883. Although a tough pirate, Sandokan, also known as "The Tiger of Malaysia," is a true gentleman and fights for the justice. This brings him to face a corrupt British and Dutch imperial rule.
