Samurai Assassin is a Japanese action film that was released in 1965. The movie is set in 1860 where the samurai world is beginning to fade due to the Meiji Restoration. When Niiro Tsuruchiyo, a samurai, tries to find a purpose in his life, he joins a clan. Their goal is to kill the Lord of the House of Ii- a high power which ruled Japan for 300 years. What he doesn't know is there's a traitor within the clan. He uses his power of the sword to become a true and noble warrior to expose the traitor. Samurai Assassin is a film that is based on true events.
