In 1944 during World War II, a group of American soldiers are ambushed by German forces in the Ardennes Forest of Belgium. The soldiers, including Private Deacon (Corbin Allred), Corporal Gould (Alexander Polinsky), and Private Kendrick (Kirby Heyborne), manage to escape the ambush and flee into the woods. While on the run, the group comes across a group of British soldiers who have also escaped from German captivity. Together, the Americans and British form an alliance in hopes of surviving and making it back to friendly territory.
The group must evade German patrols while also dealing with their own personal struggles and conflicts. Deacon, a devout Mormon, grapples with his faith and principles while in the midst of war. Gould, the only African American soldier in the group, faces discrimination and racism from some of his fellow soldiers. And Kendrick, a young soldier, must come to terms with the harsh realities of war and loss.
As they journey through the forest, the soldiers face numerous obstacles and challenges. Along the way, they encounter a group of stranded nuns, who provide them with shelter and care. The soldiers also come across a downed German plane and must decide whether to salvage its supplies or leave it untouched.
