Watch Roxanne

The movie Roxanne is a modern retelling of the classic story Cyrano de Bergerac. In the original tale, Cyrano is a witty sword fighting hero who has a large nose. Cyrano is in love with his cousin Roxanne, but she is in love with a young pretty boy named Christian. Christian loves Roxanne, but is a fool with wooing women. Cyrano encourages Christian to romance Roxanne on one condition, if he sends her Cyrano's letters as his own.

In this modernisation Cyrano is a firefighter. Roxanne is an astronomer, and her love interest, Chris, is the new handsome firefighter in town. C.D. (Cyrano) is the witty fire chief in love with the new pretty astronomer Roxanne. Were it not for his large nose and self doubt he would tell Roxanne how he feels.

The fire department gets a new firefighter Chris, (Christian) who is handsome and knows a lot about hoses. Roxanne meets the new fire-fighter and likes what she sees. Chris panics when he finds out Roxanne's feelings, in fact he throws up. C.D. sees Chris's plight and volunteers to coach him to romance Roxanne.

Roxanne is a 1987 comedy with a runtime of 1 hour and 47 minutes. It has received mostly positive reviews from critics and viewers, who have given it an IMDb score of 6.6 and a MetaScore of 73.
