Jean Donovan was a woman who saw her calling when she heard about the suffering people in El Salvador. Her goal in life was to become a missionary and bring relief to the poor people of El Salvador who had no food, water, or clothing. She had noble aspirations, but she was unaware of world politics. The United States government had adopted a policy of getting involved in Central American politics, which created more than a few enemies in countries such as El Salvador. This put people like Jean Donovan at risk and it eventually caused her death. This is a look back at how politics collided with attempts to help the poor and resulted in a terrible tragedy.
