Role Models is a 2008 comedy film directed by David Wain and stars Paul Rudd, Seann William Scott, and Elizabeth Banks. The movie follows two friends, Danny (Rudd) and Wheeler (Scott), who work for an energy drink company and spend their days promoting the drink to school children. After a particularly bad day at work, Danny and Wheeler are both arrested and given a choice between jail and community service. They choose the latter and are assigned to a mentoring program for troubled kids.

Danny is paired with a nerdy teenager named Augie (Christopher Mintz-Plasse) who is obsessed with a medieval role-playing game called "LARP" (Live Action Role-Playing). Augie's overbearing parents want him to stop playing the game and focus on more practical pursuits, but Danny sees that the game is the only thing that makes Augie happy. As they spend more time together, Danny begins to understand why the game is so important to Augie and helps him find a way to pursue his interests while also learning important life lessons.

Wheeler is paired with a foul-mouthed 10-year-old named Ronnie (Bobb'e J. Thompson), who has been expelled from multiple schools and is constantly getting into trouble. Wheeler initially struggles to connect with Ronnie and doesn't take the mentoring program seriously, but eventually realizes that Ronnie needs a positive role model in his life. Through their time together, Wheeler helps Ronnie channel his energy into more positive outlets, like his love of hip-hop music.

As Danny and Wheeler spend more time with their mentees, they begin to develop a newfound sense of purpose and responsibility. However, things start to unravel when Danny's girlfriend (Banks) discovers that he has been hanging out with Augie and assumes that he is cheating on her. Meanwhile, Wheeler's reckless behavior catches up with him when he gets into a fight with Ronnie's mother's boyfriend and puts the mentoring program in jeopardy.

Overall, Role Models is a hilarious and heartwarming movie about the transformative power of friendship and mentorship. Despite its raunchy humor and irreverent tone, the film has a lot of heart and offers a thoughtful commentary on the importance of finding purpose and meaning in life. The performances by Rudd, Scott, Mintz-Plasse, and Thompson are all top-notch, and the chemistry between them is what really makes the movie work. Whether you're a fan of comedy, coming-of-age stories, or just great movies, Role Models is definitely worth checking out.

Role Models is a 2008 comedy with a runtime of 1 hour and 40 minutes. It has received moderate reviews from critics and viewers, who have given it an IMDb score of 6.8 and a MetaScore of 61.
