Rock-a-Doodle is a 1991 animated musical film that follows the story of a rooster named Chanticleer, voiced by Glen Campbell, who believes that his crowing causes the sun to rise every morning. But after he fails to do so one day, his farmyard friends turn against him and convince him to leave the farm forever. Chanticleer decides to become a rock-and-roll musician in the city, filling the void his crowing once held. Meanwhile, the farm is thrown into darkness, and a sinister owl named The Grand Duke, voiced by Christopher Plummer, plans to take over and turn it into his own kingdom.

As the farm animals suffer without a sun, a young boy named Edmond, voiced by Toby Scott Ganger, realizes that Chanticleer was never the cause of the sun rising, but rather a partner of a group of magical animals who control the weather. Edmond sets out to find Chanticleer and convince him to come back and save the farm.

Chanticleer is hesitant to return until he sees how much the farm animals are suffering. With the help of Edmond, he embarks on a dangerous journey back to the farm, facing multiple obstacles along the way.

Once back on the farm, Chanticleer reunites with his old friends and confronts The Grand Duke, who has been using his darkness to take control. The two engage in a battle and in the end, Chanticleer's power of music and The Grand Duke's fear of the light ultimately save the day.

Rock-a-Doodle is an uplifting tale about the power of believing in oneself and the importance of teamwork. With its colorful and imaginative animation, catchy musical numbers, and funny characters, the movie is a delight for all ages.

Glen Campbell's voice brings Chanticleer to life with his charming and charismatic performance, while Christopher Plummer's deep and menacing voice as The Grand Duke leaves a lasting impression. Sorrell Booke's portrayal of Edmond's grandfather, who narrates the story, is also a standout performance.

The animation style is classic for its time, using traditional hand-drawn techniques combined with some 3D effects to create its world. The characters are all unique and memorable, from the vain peacock, Patou, voiced by Eddie Deezen, to the villainous owl, The Grand Duke.

The music in Rock-a-Doodle is catchy and memorable, with a mix of original songs and reimagined classics. Fans of country music will appreciate Glen Campbell's contributions, while lovers of rock-and-roll will enjoy the film's upbeat tunes.

While Rock-a-Doodle didn't become a commercial success upon its initial release, it has gained a cult following over the years and is now considered a beloved classic by many. With its heartwarming story, memorable characters, and catchy music, it's a film that has stood the test of time and is still enjoyable today.
