Road to Singapore is a classic comedy film from 1940 that follows the adventures of two friends, Ace Lannigan (Bing Crosby) and Joshua Mallon IV (Bob Hope), as they set out on a journey to escape the pressures of their wealthy families and find adventure in the South Seas. Along the way, they meet a beautiful dancer named Mima (Dorothy Lamour) and become embroiled in a series of mishaps and misadventures.

The film opens with Ace and Josh running away from their respective fathers, who are pressuring them to enter into arranged marriages. They decide to take a ship to Singapore, but soon find themselves running out of money and ideas. They accidentally stumble into a boxing match and Josh ends up fighting in the ring, much to Ace's dismay. Despite Josh's lack of boxing skills, he somehow manages to win and they are rewarded with a large sum of money.

Feeling invigorated by their newfound wealth, they decide to make their way to Singapore in search of more adventure. Along the way, they meet Mima, a beautiful dancer who has been abandoned by her troupe. Ace and Josh decide to take her under their wing and help her out. They also meet a wealthy businessman named Caesar (Anthony Quinn), who offers them a chance to invest in his rubber plantation. Ace and Josh are excited by the prospect of making even more money and agree to invest.

However, things quickly take a turn for the worse when it is revealed that Caesar is actually Mima's husband and that he has been using her to lure in wealthy investors. When Ace and Josh find out the truth, they are devastated and decide to leave Singapore. But before they can do so, they are captured by Caesar's men and are forced to fight their way out.

The film climaxes with a thrilling chase through the jungle, as Ace and Josh try to escape from Caesar's men. They are eventually rescued by Mima, who proves to be a capable fighter herself. The trio manages to escape in a plane and make their way back to the United States.
