Rider on the Rain centers on the character referred to only as Melancolie who observes a strange man get off of the Metro bus. He physically stalks and eventually rapes her. In revenge, Mellie eventually murders her rapist and disposes of his body on a beach. She is eventually confronted by a U.S. Colonel named Harry Dobbs who claims to be trying to track her rapist down. From there, things seem to be more complicated than they first appeared.
