Ride Clear of Diablo is a western film that tells the story of Clay O'Mara (Audie Murphy), a cowboy who returns home after the Civil War to find his family's ranch destroyed and his brother killed. He sets out to avenge his brother's death and uncovers a plot involving a group of outlaws and a crooked sheriff. Along the way, O'Mara joins forces with a saloon singer named Whitey Kincade (Susan Cabot) and an ex-gunfighter named Faron Young (Dan Duryea) to take down the criminals and restore justice to their town.

The film begins with O'Mara's return to his hometown of McKinley after serving in the Union Army during the Civil War. He is greeted by his brother's widow, Helen (Abbe Lane), and their young son, who inform him that his brother was murdered by a gang of outlaws. O'Mara sets out to find the killers and bring them to justice.

After some investigation, O'Mara discovers that the outlaws are led by a man named Ransom (Lyle Bettger) and his henchmen, Lednov (Richard Rober) and Clete (Paul Birch). The trio has been terrorizing the town and extorting money from its residents with the help of corrupt lawman Sheriff J.G. Stragg (William Pullen).

O'Mara teams up with Whitey Kincade, a saloon singer with a shady past, and Faron Young, a former gunfighter turned farmer, to take on the outlaws. Together, they devise a plan to steal Ransom's loot and use it as bait to lure Ransom and his men into town. But the plan goes awry when Lednov and Clete catch on and capture Whitey.

The final showdown takes place in Ransom's hideout, where O'Mara and his two partners face off against the outlaws in a deadly gunfight. The three heroes emerge victorious, but not before experiencing their fair share of close calls and narrow escapes.

Throughout the film, Murphy delivers a strong performance as the determined and heroic Clay O'Mara. Cabot is equally impressive as the sultry Whitey Kincade, who proves to be a valuable ally to O'Mara despite her checkered past. Duryea also delivers a solid performance as the grizzled and wise Faron Young.

The film's cinematography is noteworthy, with sweeping shots of the breathtaking Arizona landscapes that serve as a backdrop to the action. The score, composed by the legendary Dimitri Tiomkin, adds to the film's sense of tension and excitement.

Overall, Ride Clear of Diablo is a classic western that delivers on all fronts – action, drama, and romance – making it a must-see for any fans of the genre.
