Richard the Lionheart: Rebellion is a historical action-adventure movie set in medieval England during the 12th century. This independent film was directed by Stefano Milla and released in 2015. The movie features a relatively unknown cast of actors, including Neil Cole, Valeri Alessandro, and Elisa Allara. The movie begins with King Richard the Lionheart (Valeri Alessandro) presumed dead while fighting in France. John Lackland (Neil Cole), Richard's younger brother, is now the king of England and is ruling the kingdom with an iron fist. John lacks the courage and leadership skills of Richard and is struggling to keep the kingdom together. In the meantime, a group of barons led by Lord William d'Aubigny (Christopher Jones) challenges John's authority and demands the return of the Magna Carta, a document that lays out the rights and privileges of the barons.

The main character of the movie is a young and ambitious knight named Robert (Andrea Zirio). Robert is fiercely loyal to Richard and believes that he is still alive. He sets out to find Richard, believing that his return will bring hope and restore the kingdom to its former glory. Robert is joined on his quest by a group of like-minded knights: Robin (David Blazejko), Henry (Maurizio Corigliano), and Rebecca (Elisa Allara), a brave and resourceful archer.

As the story progresses, Robert and his companions face numerous obstacles in their quest to find Richard. They encounter opposition from John's soldiers and from Lord d'Aubigny's men. They also have to deal with the treachery of Lady Isabel (Lucia Allara), a spy working for John, who has her own agenda. Along the way, Robert falls in love with Rebecca, and the two share several romantic moments.

The action in the movie is fast-paced and exciting, with plenty of sword fights, archery battles, and horseback chases. The movie also depicts the brutal reality of medieval warfare, with scenes of bloody battles and gruesome injuries. The filmmakers have done an excellent job of creating a believable medieval world, with authentic costumes, weapons, and sets.

One of the highlights of the movie is the performance of Neil Cole as John Lackland. Cole brings a strong presence to the role, portraying John as a ruthless and power-hungry king who will stop at nothing to maintain his grip on the kingdom. Valeri Alessandro is also convincing as Richard the Lionheart, playing him as a noble and heroic figure who inspires loyalty and reverence from those around him.

Overall, Richard the Lionheart: Rebellion is an enjoyable and entertaining movie that will appeal to fans of historical action-adventure films. The story is engaging, the characters are likable, and the action is thrilling. While the movie has some flaws, such as uneven pacing and occasional clunky dialogue, it is a commendable effort from director Stefano Milla and his cast and crew. The movie is worth a watch for anyone who enjoys a good medieval epic.

Richard the Lionheart: Rebellion is a 2017 history movie with a runtime of 1 hour and 41 minutes. It has received mostly poor reviews from critics and viewers, who have given it an IMDb score of 2.6.
