Red Sky is a 2014 action thriller directed by Mario Van Peebles and starring Cam Gigandet, Shane West, and Rachael Leigh Cook. The film follows the story of two fighter pilots, Butch Masters (Gigandet) and Tom Craig (West), who work for an elite military squadron. Masters is a hot-headed, talented pilot who is constantly on the edge of following orders, while Craig is more of a by-the-book type of pilot. Their world gets shaken up when they are given a mission to escort a valuable shipment of weapons across international waters.

As the two fly their aircraft, they notice something suspicious happening on the ship they're supposed to protect. They're attacked by a small fleet of boats, and the weapons are stolen. In the chaos that ensues, Craig is killed, and Masters vows to find those responsible and bring them to justice.

Masters soon learns that the raid on their ship was perpetrated by a group of Russian mercenaries, led by a ruthless fighter pilot named Dmitriy Ivanov (played by Jason Gray-Stanford). Masters, with the help of his squad leader (played by Cook), begins the hunt for the mercenaries. The chase takes them from the United States to Russia, where Masters comes face-to-face with Ivanov.

Red Sky is a high-energy, fast-paced action thriller that will keep you on the edge of your seat throughout its running time. The film is filled with intense action sequences, including dogfights between fighter jets, high-speed chases on the ground, and firefights involving heavy weaponry. The film is well shot and makes great use of its locations, from wide open landscapes to cramped city streets.

One of the standout elements of Red Sky is its cast. Cam Gigandet and Shane West both give solid performances as Fighters Masters and Craig. They manage to create a believable sense of camaraderie between their characters, which adds a layer of depth to their later conflicts. Rachael Leigh Cook is also great as the squad leader, bringing a toughness and intelligence to her role that makes her essential to the mission's success.

Jason Gray-Stanford is a standout as the Russian mercenary leader Ivanov. He plays the character with a sinister charm that makes him simultaneously likable and terrifying. The battle between Ivanov and Masters is a highlight of the film, and Gray-Stanford's performance is a big reason why.

The film's score, composed by Timothy Williams, is another highlight. It perfectly captures the tension and adrenaline of the film's action sequences and adds an emotional weight to the quieter character moments. The score is a great complement to the film's visuals and performances.

Overall, Red Sky is an enjoyable action thriller that will appeal to fans of the genre. Its great cast, exciting action sequences, and strong visuals make it a standout film in the crowded market of action movies.
