Ready is a Telugu romantic-comedy film released in 2008, directed by Srinu Vaitla and starring Ram Pothineni and Genelia D'Souza in the lead roles. The movie is a typical potboiler of the genre and revolves around the story of a happy-go-lucky guy whose life suddenly takes a turn when he meets the girl of his dreams. The film begins with Chandu (Ram Pothineni), an orphan who earns his livelihood as a street-smart guy and a small-time thief. He has a close friend named Suri (Sunil) who is also his partner in crime, and the two of them enjoy doing petty thefts around the city. One day, Chandu falls in love with the beautiful Pooja (Genelia D'Souza) at first sight when he sees her attending a wedding ceremony. Pooja mistakes Chandu for a guy named Raja, who is the brother of her best friend. Chandu takes advantage of the situation and pretends to be Raja to impress Pooja.
Meanwhile, Pooja's father, Narayana (Nassar), is a wealthy businessman who is fixated on marrying off his daughter to a well-off man. When he comes to know about Pooja's secret love affair with Chandu, he tries to separate the two of them. This leads to a series of comic situations where Chandu tries to impress Narayana and win over his consent to marry Pooja.
As the story progresses, it is revealed that Chandu has a dark past, and he is on the run from a group of dangerous criminals who want to get their hands on a valuable diamond that he possesses. This puts Pooja's life in grave danger, and Chandu has to use his street-smart skills to evade the criminals and protect Pooja.
The movie's highlight is undoubtedly the comic performances of Ram Pothineni and Sunil, who share a great chemistry on screen. Ram's energetic performance as the carefree Chandu, who transforms into a responsible person when he falls in love, is noteworthy. Genelia D'Souza also delivers a commendable performance as the bubbly and innocent Pooja, who falls in love with Chandu's carefree attitude.
The film's music by Devi Sri Prasad is peppy, and the song 'Aa Ante Amalapuram' became an instant hit due to its catchy tune and catchy beats. The film's cinematography and production values are also excellent, and the film's visuals are a treat to watch.
Overall, Ready is a fun-filled movie that ticks all the boxes of a typical romantic-comedy genre. The film's comic timing, excellent performances, and foot-tapping music make it a delightful watch for audiences who enjoy mindless entertainment.
